SECTION 110 - SHOWMANSHIP
1. Goat showmanship will be held on
Monday
at 9:00 am.
2. Youth Goat exhibitors who show an animal in a youth breeding
and/or market class will be eligible to enter showmanship for
that species. They must use the animal that they entered in
the breeding or market class (except Cloverbuds).
3. Required showmanship dress is white shirts or blouses with
white, khaki, or black slacks, pants, or skirt. No sandals, flip-flops,
crocs, etc. will be allowed in the show ring. For those showing
a Market goat or a Boer goat in Showmanship, Western attire
is acceptable with a western-style shirt, jeans, belt and boots.
4. All exhibitors must fit and show their own exhibit.
5. Age of exhibitor is determined by exhibitor's age as of Jan 1 of
current year.
6. No bracing of goats is allowed.
Ribbons 1st thru 6th placing for classes 835 - 855
835. Senior showman (age 16 - older)............................. Trophy
845. Intermediate showman (age 13 - 15)....................... Trophy
855. Junior showman (age 9 - 12)................................... Trophy
SECTION 110 - CLOVERBUDS
Cloverbuds may bring an animal to show in just this one class as
they are ineligible to show in other youth classes (they must pay a
stall fee); or they may work with the Goat Department to have an
animal provided to use in this class, but they must enter the class
by the entry deadline. Cloverbuds handling an animal shall have a
parent or guardian in attendance at all times.
865. Cloverbud showman (age 5 - 8) ............................Ribbons
SECTION 120 - FITTING AND TRIMMING
THIS CLASS MUST BE ENTEREDWITH OTHER CLASS ENTRIES
ON THE GREEN ENTRY FORM BEFORE ENTRY DEADLINE.
NO ENTRIES ACCEPTED FAIR WEEK.
Objective: Developing show grooming skills by
assessing the needs of the animal, strategizing to
complete the job in the required timeandpresenting
a show-ready goat.

RULES:
A. See page 6 for age requirements for a Demonstration Project.
B. Bring your own animal. Body clipping must be done before
the start of the Fair. Hoof trimming must be done before the
contest.
C. Each contestant will be allowed to use seven (7) of the following:
 1. Clippers (no more than 2)
 2. Shears or scissors (each pair will count as 1 item)
 3. Water in bucket
 4. Cloths (paper towels, handiwipes or cloths)
(more than 1 will count as 1 item)
 5. Hoof brush
 6. Hoof pan
9. Comb / pick
 7. Hoof polish
10. Baby oil or horn polish
 8. Brush
11. Sandpaper
Remember only seven (7) of these 11 are to be used. Exhibitors
may use a stanchion during the contest and it will not be considered
in the item count.
D. Time allowed will be 1/2 hour for all goats.
E. Event will take place the day before the youth show (Sunday) at
7:00 pm. and will be organized according to the age categories
listed.
F. Event will be judged as Dairy Breeds, Boer and Pygmy.
NON-PREMIUM FUN CLASSES
Goat Calling�������������������������� Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
Costume Class ��������������������� Thursday at 4:00 p.m. Participant
must provide own costume.
Ice Cream Social ������������������ Friday at 2:00 p.m.
Adult Showmanship�������������� Friday

Goat Barn Scavenger Hunt...TBD
Club Herd......................Monday at end of Youth Show.
Clubs must sign up at entry check in on Sunday night. Four animals
from at least three different club members.
