Swine breeding stock
Swine breeding stock has been eliminated from the Shiawassee
County Fair as of 2008. The Board of Directors, in response to
concern for the health of the swine herds in Shiawassee County,
voted in November 2007 to take this action. The Board further acted
at that time to make the market show and sale a terminal market,
that is, all hogs exhibited must be sold and all of the animals sold
must be trucked directly from the fairgrounds to processing plants.
SECTION 60 — MARKET HOGS
PREMIUMS: There are no premiums for market classes.
All animals must be exhibited in a market class to be eligible to sell.

born from a sow owned by the exhibitor's immediate family
(see page 8 for definition) and raised by the exhibitor as
their project (see rule #21). Verification forms are available
on page 13.
1. Each exhibitor may sell two market Hogs.
2. All animals entered are required to be sold in the auction sale
and are for SLAUGHTER ONLY.
SECTION 70 — SHOWMANSHIP
All exhibitors must fit, show and own their exhibit. Age as of January
1st of this year. NO BOAR HOGS. Any animal dually owned may
be shown by only 1 owner. Enter only one (1) Showmanship class.
Premiums for classes 405 - 440: 5 Ribbons
405. Swine Showman, Age 16 and over, Senior
415. Swine Showman, Age 14-15, Intermediate
425. Swine Showman, Age 11-13, Junior
435. Swine Showman, Age 9-10, Novice
440. Swine Showman, First year project, 11 years and older
