23. Severe weather: Show will be put on a 30 minute hold at the
first lightning strike and shall continue to be on hold until 30
minutesafter thefinal lighteningstrikeof anystorm.Cancellation
will be decided by show management, as necessary.
24. Exhibitors can ride in ONLY one dressage class based on the
exhibitor and/or horse's ability.
25. A written test of horsemanship knowledge will be given on
Tuesday of fair week. Points received on this test will be added
to points accumulated for High-Point Award. Time for test to
be announced.
26. Proper attire is required of all exhibitors (see General Rules).
No sandals, flip-flops, crocs, etc. will be allowed in the show ring.
NOTE: Any class in this department with an * in front of it requires
a class fee of $1.00. Please enclose the total with your entry form.

A. SEI approved helmets must be worn by all exhibitors in all
Hunt Seat Classes, whether mounted or on the ground in
halter and fitting and showing classes, or at any time when
dressed in hunt attire. SEI helmets must be worn in all
Gymkhana (Speed andAction) classes and in all Physically/
Mentally Challenged classes. No exhibitor will be permitted
in these classes without an approved helmet. There will be
no discrimination against protective headgear, even if the
style does not match the style of riding. Harnesses must be
secured (straps snapped!) and must properly fit the head.
A well fitted helmet should stay on the rider's head when
the rider bends over at the walk & shakes his/her head from
side to side. The exhibitor (or his/her parent or legal guardian
if a minor), not their local show officials or judge, is solely
responsible for complying with this rule. (State 4-H Horse
& Pony Project Show Rules & Regulations).
B. A Sunday Fun Show will be held for Cloverbud riders after
their regular classes. These riders are not eligible for the
Gymkhana Show due to time restraints. Fun classes will be
available for the regular fair participant riders on Fridaymorning.
C. NoviceandWalk-trot riders, ages 9-21will alsonot beeligible
for the 4:00 p.m. GymkhanaShow, also due to time restraints.
Fun classes will be available for them on Friday morning.
D. Gymkhana riders MUST use a western saddle and bridle.
19. High-Point and Reserve High-Point Awards.
A.
New in 2013
– Points accumulated toward High-Point
Exhibitor and Reserve High-Point Exhibitor are to come
from a one horse/one exhibitor combination.
B. Points will accumulate Monday through Thursday.
C. Pointswill beawarded ineachof the following ten categories:
  1.) High-Point & Reserve 9-11
  2.) High-Point & Reserve 12-13
  3.) High-Point & Reserve 14-15
  4.) High-Point & Reserve 16-17
  5.) High-Point & Reserve 18-21
  6.) Walk-Trot 16-21
  7.) Walk-Trot 14-15
  8.) Walk-Trot 12-13
  9.) Walk-Trot 9-11

and 2nd place winners from the classes specified under each
division will be eligible to compete for the Championship in that
division.

21. OVERALL GRAND CHAMPION AND OVERALL RESERVE
GRAND CHAMPION ELIGIBILITY.
Overall Championship classes to include all High Point and
Reserve High Point winners in all age divisions except Walk
Trot and Novice classes. Class to be judged on a combination
of 1) Fitting and Showing Pattern, 2) English Equitation Pattern,
3) Western Equitation Pattern. All patterns to be determined by
the judge.
22. Freestyle Riding class will be judged by Shiawassee County rules.
