section 30 – agility
Judging:

PREMIUMS for classes 105-185: A - $8.00; B - $7.00; C - $6.00;
Agility:
a sport in which dog and handler complete a course of
obstacles where the dog is required to change body direction in
an efficient manner using balance, coordination, speed, reflexes,
strength and endurance.
Agility Guidelines:
Jump Heights for Beginning Agility is 8" vertical; 16" long/broad,
A-frame is 4'6".
Jump Heights for Intermediate Agility is 12" vertical; 24" long/broad
except for dogs 10" and under at withers, then same as beginning.
A-frame is 5'0".
Jump Heights for Advanced Agility is by dog's heights at withers.
See Chart below.
**NEW
- VETERANSCLASS is for dogs that are seven years or older
in age. Entries in Veterans classes are ineligible for Champion &
Reserve Champion Agility awards.
The jumpheights andA-frameheightswill be lowered to the following
heights:
Veterans Beginning: vertical 4"; 8" long/broad.
Veterans Intermediate: vertical 8"; 16" long/broad unless dog is 10"
and under at withers, then same as Veterans Beginning.
Veterans Advanced: See Chart below.
For Veterans/Handicap Classes, Jumps/Table Heights should
be 4" less than the Dog would normally jump.

SECTION 40 – RALLY-O
Judging:

of fair week at

Rally-O – a sport in which the dog and handler complete an
obedience course of designated stations at their own pace. The
Shiawassee County Fair will follow the rules as listed in the AKC
Rally-O Regulations, 2006.
Rally-O Novice:
Division A is for exhibitors and dogs with no experience in Rally-O.
Division B is for exhibitors with Rally-O experience handling an
inexperienced dog, or an exhibitor with no Rally-O experience
handling a dog with experience.
Novice exercises will be judged on leash; all dogs must enter and
exit the ring on leash. (The leash should be fabric or leather, long
enough to provide adequate slack, ideally 6' long.) Exhibitors may
encourage the dog by clapping their hands or patting their leg.

Rally-O Advanced:
Division A is for exhibitors and dogs with no experience in the
Advanced Division.
Division B is for the exhibitor/dog pair in which one or both have
experience in "Advanced."
Advanced exercises are judged off leash; all dogs must enter and
exit the ring on leash. Advanced Divisions A and B must each have
12-17 stations, not including Start and Finish, with a maximum of
seven (7) stationary exercises per class; one jumpmust be included.
Exhibitorsmay encourage the dog by clapping their hands or patting
their legs. Themeasure of the High Jump will be assigned according
to the dog's height; the Broad Jump will measure twice as wide as
the height of the appropriate High Jump. Entries may be arranged
for competition according to the dogs assigned jump height.
Note: Jump height should be stated on the entry form for each dog.

Rally-O Excellent:

Excellent Division exercises are judged off leash except the Honor
exercise; dogs must enter and exit the ring on leash. Excellent
DivisionsAand Bmust each have 15-20 stations, not including Start
and Finish, with a maximum of seven (7) stationary exercises per
class; two (2) jumps will be included. Handlers may not touch their
dog or make physical corrections and may not encourage the dog
by clapping their hands or patting their legs. Handlers are allowed
to use verbal encouragement, multiple commands, and/or inaudible
signals using one or both arms and hands.
